Drop Sleeve Shirt

Drop Sleeve Shirt
Drop Sleeve Shirt

Product Description

The DROP SLEEVE SHIRT was popular during the height of the Fur Trade Era about 1800 to 1850 when more fitted clothing became stylish. Worn as a work shirt by fur trappers, traders, settlers, and explorers this European styled shirt was common to both rich and poor.Women wore this shirt belted over a skirt as well. The blousy fit and large sleeves allow plenty of freedom of movement needed for frontier life. Ours features a lace up front closure and handmade deer antler buttons on the cuffs. This shirt can also be worn with a large belt over top that a Mountain Man would slip his knife and hawk into.We use handmade, rustic antler buttons on all our shirts. The basic shirt is made of Osnaburg (see fabric selection page). Optional period accurate print fabrics can be selected for an additional $15.00.
