DROVER SHIRTS
This great shirt was made to order for the men driving herds of cattle and for the range riders life in general. The narrow bib front could be left open along with the placket buttons underneath left open to cool a cowboy down, or closed up tight and collar raised if the wind blew chilly. The flap was a barrier to keep the dust out of a guy's shirt, the wind off his chest and it provided a bit more warmth to the core of the body.
We have seen these mostly in solid fabrics but some stripes are correct too.
