Back in the "day" no proper lady ever wore men's pants or rode astride. They rode sidesaddle and as time marched on, and women did ride astride their horses, they were still socially prevented from wearing pants...so the split skirt.
We offer a few styles of split skirts in mid-calf and ankle length as you prefer.

SPLIT RIDING SKIRTS- Ready to Ship
| FULL SPLIT SKIRT-
WITH PLAIN FRONT This skirt is deep rose in color and is the same
basic cut as the one above but features our adjustable waistband. Simply
pull the elastic inserts on the inside right and left up and re-button
them to the desired size from 28" to 38". Nothing shows from
the outside except the increase in gathers as the skirt gets smaller.
Finished length of the skirt is 38".

RANCH SPLIT SKIRT WITH DROP FRONT
This version features a button closing in front with exposed buttons. It is somewhat a-line with the split included within what looks like a box pleat.

RANCH SPLIT SKIRT w REMOVABLE FRONT PANEL This version features a removable front panel that disguises the split from the front and can be buttoned off and removed.
